Céline Dion has revealed that she is pregnant with twins.

"We're ecstatic," said her husband and manager, Rene Angélil. "Céline is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing."

In an interview with Le Journal de Montreal, Dion explained that she underwent in-vitro fertilization six times and had acupuncture to increase her chances of conceiving and carrying her babies to term.

"It's stressful but I'm relaxing," she said. "I look at my little belly. I do almost nothing. If you tell me I have to stay in bed, I will stay in bed until November, when the babies are born. To bring them into the world, there's nothing more important than that. It's incredible."
The singer's earlier pregnancy had ended in a miscarriage, but she and her husband aim to try again to have a second child, her spokeswoman told AFP Wednesday.

The pregnancy that Dion announced in mid-August ended 10 days later in miscarriage, her spokeswoman Francine Chaloult said.

Dion, 41, and husband Rene Angelil, 67, tried again last month to become pregnant, but failed. They are to head to New York next weekend for a third try with artificial insemination.

In March, Dion had announced an 18-month break from performing to focus on having a child
